Diathermy

Diathermy is an advanced technique employed by electrologists to reduce and eliminate individual visible surface capillaries or thread veins on the face or décolletage. Damaged capillaries can be caused by many factors, most commonly excessive sun exposure, extreme temperature changes. Smoking, spicy foods, harsh topical treatments, excessive alcohol consumption or a genetic disposition can all cause these veins to become damaged creating the ruddy look in skin.

How it works

A fine wire probe is used to dot along the line of capillaries to dry up the blood. Capillaries can be diminished in 2-3 treatments. Aftercare is minimal as the skin heals under 2 days. A light soothing cream, one that is not thick, is ideal.

Contra-Indicators for Diathermy

Disorders of the heart, Vascular or blood disorders, Blood clotting, Pregnancy, metal implants, high or low blood pressure, recent surgery, skin injuries. Heart Conditions, Pace Makers, Keloid Scarring, Diabetes (under control diabetes is okay) and Hepatitis.
