What is Microdermabrasion?

A diamond tip wand runs over the skin with a light suction to exfoliate and resurface the skin,
helping to reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, acne scars, enlarged pores,
pigmentation and uneven skin texture. Benefits are far beyond just the above, there is huge lynph drainage benefits for sluggish, dull skin.

Microdermabrasion is a quick, non-invasive treatment, ideal for cleaning, refining and smoothing the skin surface. Using micro lymphatic moves to massage, the procedure removes the surface layer of dead skin and stimulates blood circulation in the deeper layers of the skin, resulting in nourished cells and soft, hydrated skin that glows.

Bare Bella microdermabrasion can be adjusted to suit all types of skin, including oily and dry, resulting in a treatment that’s personalised to each specific skin type. Our micro machine can also treat different skin thicknesses, allowing it to assist with a variety of concerns, including acne, congestion, fine lines, wrinkles, scarring, and dry, flaky skin.

What’s the difference between crystal and diamond Microdermabrasion machines?

There are two types of micro machine commonly used: one that uses a sand blasting effect, which is a  constant flow of micro-crystals to abrade the skin, and another that achieves abrasion with a laser cut diamond tip wand. The diamond tip wand allows areas closer to the eyes and mouth to be treated more accurately, while the crystal machine has a limited scope, due to the possibility of crystals getting into the eyes and causing damage. Diamond tip machines are also easier to control, are less irritating to the skin, and result in a more precise treatment.

Bare Bella use a medical-grade diamond tip machine for all Microdermabrasion treatments to obtain the best results.

Where can Microdermabrasion be performed?

The treatment can be safely performed anywhere on the body, including the face, arms, chest, hands, neck and back

Does Microdermabrasion work for all skin types?

Yes, all skin types and colours are suitable for treatment, including from  sensitive to both oily and dry skin. Our machine can even be adjusted to cater for sensitive skin. There are however, certain skin conditions and immune system disorders that may make Microdermabrasion unsuitable, so it’s important to discuss your medical history with us in your initial consultation. The treatment is also not recommended for those with exceptionally sensitive skin, or those suffering with rosacea, as this may aggravate the area. Clients on roaccutane medication are also contraindicated.
