Great result, was trying to search out a hair… found one on the knee, and some fluff on the upper back of thigh.. that has colour to it, but so fine it’s not worth treating with more IPL maintenance… this was a dry good case for IPL hair removal.
Some people have 5% die, some 20% die, some clients have 50% and some higher, to quote this lady, “97%” being her result!! Her hair was a very dark brown and her skin is very fair so I was able to go higher in the current.
When the skin is darker I do need to turn the current down, (so the result can be not as good, however if the hair is pitch black (darker than the hair in reel above) the skin/hair contrast is greater and will therefore be a better result…!
Basically the greater the contrast the better the result!
Also the better the result the less maintenance to do, after doing a course of treatment. Some maintenance can be more IPL, and some can be waxing.
For example this lady only needed a wax 2 years later, she finished her course March 20th 2020 – she did IPL hair removal on half leg first then we go onto IPL on top half. Quite frankly the wax was more of a good exfoliation than hair removal! ?? … but some will need to IPL treatment every 4 or 5 months… or 1 a year, it really does vary according to what comes back and how long it takes and how dark it is. I do remember a customer in another salon I worked in, she was a redhead so the result would pretty pretty much next to nothing, but she did it every 6-8 weeks just to have the hair grow without becoming ingrown!
