I’m always banging on at clients to get their levels checked, zinc comes up a lot. Zinc (Internally and externally) is highly effective in the treatment of acne and oily skin. It’s needed for immune function, wound healing, blood clotting, thyroid function, and much more. It has the ability to reduce inflammation and infection. Internally can get rid of excessive testosterone and regulate the p.acne bacteria which causes the breakouts! 

Foods high in zinc include oysters, pumpkin seeds, B complex vitamins. Personally I take zinc in a tablet from my naturopath!

If hormonal acne is a concern for you, I also 100% believe in minimizing or maybe as a start giving up completely – dairy, wheat (not just gluten) and sugar. Doing this will benefit different people in different ways, create less redness, reduce acne, correct period cycles, minimize hormonal hair. Give it a try. I’ve done it for my PCOS and now I find I don’t have to be so strict. .
